July 26 - 28, 2024 (Cherry Springs, PA)

The Bubble Nebula, also known as NGC 7635, is a stunning emission nebula located in the constellation Cassiopeia. It gets its name from the spherical "bubble" of ionized gas that has been pushed away from a young, hot star at its center by strong stellar winds. This nebula is about 7,000 light-years away from Earth and spans roughly 10 light-years across, showcasing intricate structures and vibrant colors due to the interaction of ultraviolet radiation with surrounding gas and dust.
