November 2 - 3, 2024 (Cherry Springs, PA)

The Dolphin Head Nebula (Sh2-308) is an emission nebula located around 1,500 light-years away in the constellation Puppis. Its name comes from the distinctive shape of its gas and dust clouds, which resemble the head of a dolphin. The nebula is part of a star-forming region, with young, hot stars energizing the surrounding gas, causing it to glow.
