The Pac-Man Nebula (NGC 281)

The Pacman Nebula, or NGC 281, is a striking emission nebula located in the constellation Cassiopeia. Its name comes from its resemblance to the iconic video game character, Pac-Man. The nebula is about 9,200 light-years away and spans approximately 48 light-years across. It features a dynamic structure of glowing gas and dark dust lanes, with young, hot stars at its core illuminating and shaping the surrounding material.
