The Pleiades (The Seven Sisters)

October 24 - 25, 2022 (Hemlock Lake, NY)

The Pleiades, also known as the Seven Sisters, is a bright and compact open star cluster located in the constellation Taurus. Visible to the naked eye, it consists of several hot, blue stars surrounded by reflection nebulae that give it a misty appearance. The Pleiades cluster is approximately 444 light-years away from Earth and is a favorite object in mythology and astronomy alike, representing a stunning example of stellar siblings born from the same cosmic cloud of gas and dust.
